Well done you! What a journey it has been and I love your reference to Ricky Martin, he was my muse too when I used to write my blogs about dating ‘Living la Vida Loca’ 😉 isn’t he inspiring! 🥰

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you, it’s about time the world gets some of your - writer’s - medicine 🙏🩷✍️📖🎥

I loved reading your story, Francesca. Huge kudos to you for believing in your book and not giving up. My story is the other way round - it started as a screenplay over 20 years ago and I'm now writing the novel, which I'll self publish. Fingers crossed that Emilio makes it to screen.

That’s so kind, thank you. I’m impressed you wrote a screenplay first, I know how technical that is because I did a two or three day intensive course with Robert McKee in Lomdon years ago. I don’t know if my brain is wired that way! But reading the pages of my book as a screenplay was magic! Good luck with your book. Xx

Francesca, I steered clear of Mr McKee as I suspected that would be the most direct route to an "It's too hard and I'm inadequate" breakdown. I just dove in. Spent a decade on all things screenwriting and am now luxuriating - LUXURIATING - in the freedom of novelishness. I'm excited for you, getting to read a screenplay of your story, with someone else doing the hard work!

McKee was definitely intense. Plus he was quite scary😂. He yelled at people . Clever man though.

What an inspiring story! I’m so glad you persisted and started writing again. Good luck! I hope I’ll be seeing Just Like a Movie in theaters.

This reads like a great story itself. Creativity is so much fun, for all the hard work it entails, and it sounds like you are having huge fun now. Hats off!

I couldn't be happier for you. From my own experience (a period of very unfortunate events happened to me as well) when something good happens one appreciates it even more. Fingers crossed and many congratulations, dear Francesca!!!
