WONDERSTRUCK
Just another romantic poem...
Hello you gorgeous people! After a poem on anger (actually, on my difficulty in accessing anger) yesterday, I felt like a little bit of romance today. So, I selected a playlist featuring nothing but slow and romantic Eagles tracks, and splashed around in memories of good old mushy stuff. This poem, like many of the romantic poems I've written, is inspired by the book I'm working on. I love writing these romantic poems; they really make me happy! Francesca xx And I just added this video of me reading my poem. I'd better start practicing reading my poems more, because I was at a really cool shop with a friend the other day, and my friend mentioned that I write poetry, and the owner of the shop asked me whether I'd do a reading. So I said yes, but I know if it really happens I'll be SOOOOO terrified, and honestly, I find reading my poems really hard. In fact, I just recorded yesterday's poem as well, and it has the word discombobulated in it twice in two slightly different forms... Have you tried to say that word twice within less than a minute?! Pffff! Anyway, it was a sunny day, so I thought I'd push my comfort zone a little.... Also I went to the hairdresser this morning... Just saying! xx Cesca
WONDERSTRUCK Bold and eager before, Now, she shivered, shy, Reticent to tamper with grace, Afraid to capsize the enduring wonder of what could have been Into a void of disappointment. She began to turn away. He caught her hand. Held tight. Whispered her name. Lifted her chin with one finger. His mouth found hers. Wonderstruck, they capsized.

Ohhh I love this one. Hearts.
I invite you to read more of your poems. Hearing you read yours, I get a better sense of where the emphasis goes on the word. And you have a pleasant reading voice. Well done!
