🐈 FAST AND FURRY! 🐈  This summer… chaos has claws. 🐾🐾



Little miracle of nature,
born
part tiger, part arctic patroller,
how you delight me
with your look-at-me-now
obstacle course swagger.

A leap, a claw,
and – wow! –
you semi-summit
the olive tree.
I’m on my feet
applauding 
while you
box a young offshoot
into submission.

Upside down now,
and…oh! 
Ha, you fooled me!
nothing accidental about
that crash-landing!
I gasp at how fast
you rise, arch, spit, bounce -
the crème de la crème of action heroes.

Now, the chase!
Breakneck speed,
slalom precision 
around the table leg, 
up, over, behind, through -
straight down the aqua-blue plant pot
to tackle the eight-legged villain.

Then,
silence.
One chair cushion.
One sleepy kitten
with a contented smile 
twitching its whiskers.
