Just Like A Movie: another snippet from my romcom
Celebrating one year since the publication of my romcom!
Hi everyone,
Before the excerpt, I wanted to say that writing this book was an amazing experience. It was so much fun, so vivid in my imagination that it almost wrote itself. But some scenes were super incredibly fabulously fun to write, and this one, taking place on the roof terrace of a club in Ibiza really surprised me. I didn’t expect what happened when it happened. And… oooh! You must meet Caliente’s Chicks! They are hilarious!
Obviously, I’m not spilling all the beans, as that would be being a party pooper, but I do hope you’ll consider it as a summer read, or any read for that matter as it truly is a lot of fun. And if you’ve already read it, and haven’t reviewed it, whether on Amazon, or here, or anywhere, please do, as we rely so much on both word of mouth and word of hand! Just a few lines would make me so happy (or sad…but that’s never happened yet… Yikes!). Thanks!
Love,
Cesca xx
“I’m about to ask a million more questions when the lights on the stage come alive. Red lights start whirling, pink lights start twirling and jungle-type animal prints in crazy colours bounce off a white backdrop like elaborate, inter-connecting henna tattoos. A multitude of tropical plants complete the décor. I suspect imminent dry ice but am spared the cliché. Then, suddenly, darkness descends on the roof terrace as an almost indiscernible bass line gradually picks up intensity, until I can feel it vibrating among my internal organs. The bright lights come on, the first notes of Fuego de Amor envelop the night and there is Emilio, legs apart, his back to the audience, imprisoned behind a picket fence of laser beams.
I’m so nervous I can hardly watch.
Jorge has been transformed from a happy-go-lucky bon vivant to a guitar flailing sexual predator in black combat pants and a tight V-necked T-shirt. Laura screams like a teenager and starts jumping up and down. Jorge sees her and smiles. David is all pouts and scowls. He’s wearing ingeniously ripped jeans and a shirt the colour of his arresting, steel blue eyes. He’s grinding his pelvis slowly, regularly and rhythmically against the back of his bass guitar, certain he’s the ultimate female fantasy. Manolo, no longer showing any sign of nerves, is grinning broadly, dressed in a white sleeveless T-shirt, black jeans, with a red and white bandana tied around his forehead. He’s twirling his drumsticks, bonging his bongos and shaking his shoulders.

Love this description of the band! Not sure why I was picturing an 80's Big Hair Band like Bon Jovi when I read it, but whatev. LMAO.
